The Machakos Youth Empowerment Program – Cohort 2 recruitment exercise has been successfully completed, drawing an impressive turnout of young people from every corner of Machakos County. Thousands of enthusiastic youth visited their respective Sub-Chiefs’ offices to register, demonstrating strong interest in joining this transformative county initiative.
CECM for Education, ECDE, Vocational and Skills Training, Dr. Consolata Mutisya, commended the exercise, describing it as transparent, free of charge, and highly impactful. She noted that the overwhelming enthusiasm among the applicants reflects the aspirations of Machakos youth who are eager to acquire practical skills and seize new opportunities for personal and economic growth.
A total of 1,500 young people will now join the Machakos Youth Empowerment Program Cohort 2, where they will receive hands-on training and capacity-building support designed to prepare them for a brighter and more sustainable future.
Through this program, the County Government of Machakos continues to reaffirm its commitment to nurturing talent, empowering young people, and building a skilled, confident, and economically empowered generation.
